Jennifer Roma, Wildlife Technician jroma@upei.ca (902) 628 4314 Jennifer is originally from the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia and moved to PEI in 2003. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Mount Saint Vincent University in 1997 and, more recently, from the Wildlife Conservation Technology Program at Holland College in 2007. Jenn has served as a board member for several environmental and conservation organizations and has work experience in ecological forestry, plant and animal surveying, and watershed coordination. She is thoroughly enjoying her role as a Wildlife Technician and temporary replacement for Darlene Weeks while she is on maternity leave! |

Grant Curtis, Anatomy Technician curtis@upei.ca (902) 566 0806 Born in Southern Ontario and raised in Guelph. Grant graduated in biology from the University of Guelph in 1981. He had various technician positions in colleges of Biological Sciences, Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine. In 1986 he moved to Prince Edward Island in the inaugural year of the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island. Grant held technical positions in parasitology, central services and, for 10 years, in the Aquatic Animal Facility. In 2000 joined the CCWHC and has articulated and mounted two complete skeletons of an Atlantic white-sided dolphin and a harp seal. He is currently working on the skeleton of a leatherback turtle. All three animals were from Atlantic Canadian waters and had post mortems preformed at the CCWHC at AVC. Grant lives in Charlottetown with his wife Mary and they have two daughters, Shannon and Danielle. |

Whitney Kelly-ClarkMSc Student wkelly@upei.ca Whitney is originally from Stratford, PEI, and recently obtained her BSc (Hon) from UPEI. While at UPEI her research focused on assessing the impacts of anthropogenic activities on the diets of red foxes during the winter and examining abundance, distribution, habitat and dietary preferences of Island waterfowl. She began her research with the CCWHC in May 2010 under the supervision of Drs Scott McBurney and Spencer Greenwood with essential input from Dr María Forzán. Whitney’s research will focus on trichomonosis, an emerging disease in wild finches in the Maritimes. She is grateful to work with the CCHWC and is very excited to see what comes from her research. |

Heather Fenton MVSc Student Born in Yellowknife, Heather grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, where she studied animal biology at the University of Alberta. She attended veterinary college at the University of Saskatchewan and graduated in 2008. She has spent the past two years working in mixed practice in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Heather has a strong interest in wildlife disease through involvement with the Wildlife Disease Association and the Canadian Cooperative Wildlife Health Centre regional node in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She is excited to join the pathology team at AVC and be the first student in the MVSc residency program with a wildlife pathology focus. |

Marianne Parent1st year Vet Student to be, AVC mparent@upei.ca Marianne lived in the South Shore of Montreal until she moved to PEI with her family in September 2006. She has recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours from UPEI in May 2010. Marianne feels privileged to be working with the CCWHC for the summer before attending the AVC in August 2010. |
